A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you have a Linux website hosting with us and you would like to activate the catch-all option for a particular email mailbox that you have in the account, it will take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all messages sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all address can be configured with a couple of clicks of the mouse in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with us. The hosting account will be administered via our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create email addresses using any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you will need to click on the symbol with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Deactivating this functionality can be done in the exact same fashion and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a particular domain name, you’ll receive a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never edit or disable any feature automatically.
